Prevent dunst from autostarting using DBus

By default, dunst is autostarted by DBus. This can be turned off by editing /usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.knopwob.dunst.service and changing

Exec=/usr/bin/dunst

To:

Exec=/usr/bin/true

Alias for diff-so-fancy

diff-so-fancy is a tool to create cooler looking git diffs. To alias git dsf, enter these commands:

git config --global alias.dsf "diff --color"
git config --global pager.dsf "diff-so-fancy | less --tabs=4 -RFXS"

Setup permissions for XAMPP

When installing XAMPP on Linux, you need to setup permissions to access the htdocs folder located at /opt/lampp/htdocs/.

sudo chown -Rc robin /opt/lampp/htdocs/
sudo chmod -Rc 777 /opt/lampp/htdocs/

Set default apps using the commandline

To look up what the current default is:

xdg-mime query default inode/directory

To set the new default:

xdg-mime default nemo.desktop inode/directory
